The UK and India have an enduring defence and security partnership. In July, the Prime Ministers of India and the United Kingdom, endorsed the new India-UK Vision 2035. This ambitious and future-focused agreement underscores the resolve to work together for mutual growth and, prosperity including across our shared security and defence goals.

The opportunity in the security sector is significant, with factors like increased urbanisation, population growth, mass transportation, export demand, and investment contributing to this.

The current market opportunity stands at approximately £10 billion for industry. The Indian Centrally Armed Police Forces are seeing double-digit growth in their budgets for state-of-the- art machinery, equipment and vehicles.

Indian State Police Forces are adapting to technological advances by focusing on ambitious programmes on police modernisation, digital policing, and the improvement of forensic capabilities and narcotics control facilities.

The UK’s homeland security industry is well placed to support with police modernisation, critical infrastructure protection, border security, forensics, counterterrorism, cyber security and safe cities.

The Trade Mission will meet with Senior Police Officials in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai.
