Wavesight Partners with Josh Tech to Localise Manufacturing of Carrier-Grade Wireless Radios in India

Wavesight today announced a licensed manufacturing partnership with Bengaluru-headquartered Josh Tech Services Pvt Ltd to produce its Scorpion series of carrier-grade point-to-point (PtP) and point-to-multipoint (PtMP) radios in India.

The partnership supports the Government of India’s Make in India initiative by localising the production of high-capacity wireless infrastructure used across public safety, energy, mining, airports, and smart city deployments. The facility was inaugurated by Mr Chandru Iyer, Deputy High Commissioner for Karnataka & Kerala and HM Deputy Trade Commissioner – South Asia (Investment).

Proven Technology, Manufactured in India.

Wavesight’s Scorpion radios deliver up to 2 Gbps throughput with sub-3 Ms latency and are designed for carrier-grade backhaul and access networks operating in demanding industrial environments.

Since the start of operations in India, Wavesight, through its locally registered entity and partners, has deployed more than 10,000 radios across over 100 projects nationwide. Key deployments support mission-critical networks for:

  • State Police forces in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh
  • ONGC facilities for wireless CCTV and SCADA connectivity
  • Coal India subsidiaries, including Eastern Coalfields
  • Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum refinery networks
  • Airports Authority of India facilities (Amritsar Airport)

These deployments provide resilient wireless connectivity in environments where fibre rollout is impractical or cost prohibitive.

Under the agreement, Josh Tech will manufacture Wavesight’s Scorpion radios at its Bengaluru facility under licence. The initial phase will focus on the Scorpion PtP and PtMP platforms capable of delivering up to 1 Gbps over distances of up to 5 km, with scope to extend manufacturing to additional Wavesight wireless transmission products over time. Local manufacturing is expected to improve availability, reduce lead times, and support long-term serviceability for Indian customers while maintaining Wavesight’s global quality and performance standards.
